... with this Range Rover?!
Seen today on the streets of Paris, France. I walked passed it and went “wow, wtf?”

For when you want a Golf, but you also want your engine to explode after five metres.

It’s two-tone, because it’s British and sew fawncy?

City Rover.
It actually looks really well done.

LOL, what is it really?

I think they kept it in the dryer too long.

In Britain it is not uncommon to “bobtail” Range Rovers for extreme off-roading and trialling (I almost bought one through eBay once, but common sense prevailed in the end). However they used to be first-generation (“Classic”) rather than second-generation (P38) ones.
I suppose it was just a matter of time before they started doing it to newer models.

Interesting.
According to the records, it’s a 2.5 diesel, is blue and was first registered in October 2001.
Maintenant, c’est transformé a un RR court, et pourquoi pas?

So like the people that bobtail Jeep Comanches and the like except with a less reliable vehicle that looks goofier?

I admit many British Leyland/Land Rover products are not that reliable (i.e., not reliable at all) but I wouldn’t consider a first-gen Range Rover goofy. Not even a bobtailed one.
Chacun le sien, bien sûr.

It’s the Range Rover CityRover. Designed especially for the urban environment.

That’s probably the best angle, other than head on, to photograph one of those. They look just odd from all other angles.

I just don’t like the look of most vehicles when they are bobbed.

It’s got the BMW 2.5 diesel. How unreliable are they?

It’s exactly what it looks like, a cut down Range Rover.
They’re quite a thing.

Well how about that....

Fair enough. I think a two-door bobtailed first-gen RR does not look that bad, but I understand you and many others may not agree. (In any case anyone performing that kind of surgery on a “Classic” RR nowadays should probably be hanged and quartered).
However, there is some merit in having the 100" chassis (allegedly, the best all-round wheelbase among LR’s products) and the shortest possible rear overhang.
Land Rover toyed with the idea themselves in prototypes of Land Rovers (not RRs) for the French and Swiss Army (among others). From my point of view the proportions work quite well, actually. See

http://www.dunsfoldcollection.co.uk/collection/military/french-swiss-100-v8-pick-up#v
It is a prototype, after all, so some details (like the rear wing extensions in the hardtop one) are, er... disappointing.

my guess , rear ended and instead of repairing damage they cut it off.
however i like it.
